Are you one of those people who likes to workout in front of the television? Maybe you’ve got a treadmill or stationary bicycle parked in front of the tube. The idea is to get a good workout, while you’re entertained, right? But do you ever catch yourself “gliding” when you get caught up in the show? If so, the “EnterTRAINER” might be for you. It’s a little fitness gadget that monitors your heart rate while you work out and watch TV. If your heart rate falls below your target zone, it turns the television down. If you don’t get back on track, the little tyrant device turns the TV off until you do. The cost for this potentially annoying, bitchy product brilliant fitness motivator? $140.
Riding a bucking brunco… what could be a better workout? Assuming you stay on long enough to burn some calories (and don’t get trampled when you fall off). It does sound a little dangerous, doesn’t it? But wait… now you can get an iGallop fitness machine that simulates the workout you get clinging to a bucking horse’s back. You don’t have to have any horseback riding experience for this one, just a willingness to hold on tight and flex those inner thigh muscles.
The iGallop comes with three levels to choose from: trot (for warming up), gallop (for extended toning and shaping), and race (to really work those muscles). If you’ve got $600 to spend, you can plop this machine down in front of the television and ride your way through your favorite shows. (The reviews at Amazon are surprisingly favorable, so I guess this is a little higher quality machine than your standard plastic ab-flattening gizmo.)
The Adeo Fitness Trainer is a gadget that computes your total distance traveled, your average speeds, your elevation, your current and elapsed time, and the calories you’ve burned. The device is customizable for use when running, jogging, walking, or biking. At the end of the day, you can synch the Adeo with your computer to chart your progress over days, weeks, and months. It stores up to ten hours of workout data at a time, so even you marathon runners can use the trainer. For added motivation, you can turn on the audio cues that update you through earphones as you go (don’t worry… you can plug the Adeo into your favorite mp3 player, so you can have your music too).
The price is $149 from Adeo.
