Looking for an interesting new way to zoom down your local bike trail? Take a peep at these Chariot Roller Skates.
They remind me of the Land Rollers inline skates taken to the extreme!
According to the manufacturer’s site, the chariot skates’ funky wheels let you:
- gain and maintain momentum with less effort, greater stability and more maneuverability
- skate over rougher terrain or ski down grassy slopes
- commute like a bicycle (free of seat & handle bars)
The product isn’t out on the market yet, but you can visit their website to track their progress.
Also, here are some videos if you want to see the prototypes in action:

Usually I just write about quirky gadgets that catch my eye on here. I probably wouldn’t actually buy many of them, but this inline skate carrier is going on my must-have list. I love skating, but if you’re starting and finishing anywhere that isn’t near the car, it can be a pain toting your skates around. I have a friend who often skated to classes in college, and she didn’t have anywhere to put her skates once she changed into her shoes (apparently the professors weren’t amused by students skating the hallways and into the classrooms). They tend to be a bit big to fit in most backpacks. This skate carrier would make it easy to carry them and then hang them over a chair or something.
The holder is only $8.75 too so, as I said, I might have to buy this one for myself. A practical gadget for once, heh.
